Happy 4th of July!

Our 4th of July morning started off with Rick getting up nice and early to go cook breakfast for the ward. (What happened to sleeping in on a holiday?)

The kids and I met him over at the pavillion sitting with the Bridges just in time to reap the rewards of the cooking from the Bishopric. We enjoyed having Skyler with us this year as he usually has scout camp the week of the 4th.

Here are some pictures of the Sarival Ward crew...

They had some water games for the kids. Elizabeth took Lily down to play some.

At last! Rick gets to eat and socialize!

Fast forward to the evening festivities. We had my parents, Aunt Lois and the Bridges over (Rick's parents couldn't make it) for some BBQ, games and fireworks.

ASMTA Conference

I had the opportunity to present at the Arizona State Music Teachers Association Conference on June 5th. My presentation topic was "Practical Technology Tools for the Music Studio" and focused on the practical tools used in the music studio and what teachers can do with them in addition to setting up a music lab. It was a successful presentaion and I enjoyed the experience. Here are some pictures of me giving my presentation. (Thanks Angie!)

Here is my conference badge and a picture of me waiting for my presentation to begin...

Talent Show

Elizabeth and her friend Lorena sang "Halo" for the Talent Show on their last day of school (June 2nd). They did a great job.

I have been trying for days to download the video but for some reason it's on a never ending download. One of these days when I can get it to work, it will be here on the blog. In the meantime, I just wanted to say Good Job Girls!

Goodyear Stake Youth Film Festival

Our stake held a youth film festival this year. (I guess this is what they do instead of road shows nowadays.) Our ward asked Skyler if he would like to film and edit. He ended up directing, filming, editing, etc... which was a big task for him. The first time he's done all this in one video on his own. He did an awesome job and our ward, Sarival ward won Best Videography and Overall Best Picture! I think Skyler has a good future in this business, what do you think? It was such an awesome night for everyone. The stake did a fantastic job making all the youth feel so special. Elizabeth is in the dance scene of the video. Unfortunately her jogging scene had to get edited out. That's the life of an actress I guess... If you want to see the video come on over! In the meantime, here is some video's of that night and pictures!

The Big 4-0!

Time to catch up on the latest...

Rick celebrated is big 40th birthday on April 24th with a surprise party! (His birthday is April 27th). I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull off the surprise part but I did. Yeah! My parents hosted the party at their house. Our cover story was that we were meeting them and his parents to go out to dinner at a "new" restaurant in Surprise. For over a week I was so nervous whether he had any clue or not.

Here is some pictures of the big day!
