Grand Canyon Field Trip

Yesterday I went on Elizabeth's 7th grade field trip as a chaperon to the Grand Canyon. We woke up at 4:00am to meet the school buses at 4:45pm. (Buses were supposed to leave at 5:00am but we ended up leaving at 5:30am.) We arrived in Williams to catch the train at 9:30am and departed at 10:00am. It was a 2 hour train ride where we had a little entertainment from a singing cowboy. The trains was much more comfortable then the school buses for sure.

Then arriving at the Grand Canyon at 12:15pm we met with our ranger to do some activities. A few hours later it was time to explore the gift shop, relax and hop back on the bus. We finally arrived back home at 11:30pm.

It was a long, cold and very uncomfortable (you forget how small those seats and aisles are on the school bus) day, but I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with Elizabeth. She has never seen the Grand Canyon before and thought it looked "just like a painting." I'm glad I was able to share that with her.

Elizabeth is growing up too fast. How fun that you guys got to go on a trip together. The grand canyon is so pretty. I want to go again.

How funny I thought the Grand Canyon looked like a picture too. It was mine and Taylor's first time as well. Fun day, but man we were tired by the time we got back.
